The Start of the Iditarod
The Iditarod race has always fascinated me and I expressed my interest to Pam. I'm not sure whether she was all that interested or she just went along with my bucket list. We went on a tour sponsored by 214 and it was great. Seeing the sights in Alaska at a time of the year when most people avoid it was worth the trip by itself, but the pre-race activities made it a most memorable tour. The mushers are friendly, outgoing people to those of us supporting their sport and the dogs who truly appear to love what they do weren't what I expected.
